Over the past 25 years, Aptco Group has grown into an international group of specialist companies, each with deep expertise, trusted brands and strong customer relationships. The group is now bringing these strengths together through three focused divisions: Distribution, Manufacturing and Calibration.
As the next step in this journey, Aptco Group will unite its European scientific distribution businesses under one company and brand – BlueScientific – from January 2027.
Connecting expertise across Europe
The new organisation will bring together BlueScientific, Benelux Scientific in the Netherlands and Belgium, Schaefer Scientific, France Scientifique and Escil under the BlueScientific name.
Together, these businesses offer a broad portfolio of scientific instruments and laboratory solutions, with expertise spanning analytical instrumentation, materials characterisation, sample preparation and microscopy.

They also share complementary technologies, applications and supplier relationships. By connecting specialists and knowledge across countries, BlueScientific will create new opportunities to solve complex challenges and deliver greater value for customers and partners.
Each business contributes valuable local insight and established customer relationships. Benelux Scientific serves the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg; Schaefer Scientific has a strong presence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; France Scientifique and Escil bring expertise in scientific instrumentation and metallographic sample preparation in France; and BlueScientific contributes its established network across the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries.
From scientific challenge to trusted results
BlueScientific’s role will go far beyond supplying instruments. Scientific challenges demand the right technology, specialist knowledge and practical support. By connecting local expertise with trusted supplier partnerships across Europe, BlueScientific will help researchers and industry move with confidence from complex questions to reliable results.
The ambition is clear: to become a leading European laboratory solutions partner, combining expert local support with the strength of one connected network. Shared knowledge across teams and countries will create deeper understanding, accelerate innovation and enable scientific progress.
Local expertise. European reach. Shared progress.
The BlueScientific identity and organisation will be introduced from January 2027. Until then, each business will continue to operate under its current name, with the same familiar local contacts and service channels. Customers and partners will receive clear, timely information before any practical or legal details change.
